Pet Vaccinations a Scam

The Houston Chronicle confirms what I've long suspected -- my best lil' manlet in the world does not need to be poked with needles every year and those awful shots can even be damaging to his health.

The article describes a vaccination related reaction that causes dogs to be allergic to their own blood.

*Nasty*

Of course, the average pet owner will never hear about this -- think of all the mad green vets wouldn't make...

My mom's Chihuahua, Pepe, once had a horrible reaction.

We were on a ten hour family road trip to big bros house for Thanksgiving --think living Hell -- and the area around the shot turned blood red and swelled like a tumor.

All the fur fell out around this angry doughnut sized pustule and Pepe almost looked to be a goner.

Oh, Happy day.

Despite my glee at his possible demise, he was so pathetic -- I even felt sorry for the evil beast.

No very, very sorry -- just a little.

If you knew Pepe, you'd understand the enormity of me feeling even micro pity for him.

He eventually recovered and lived to torment the world for several more years before going toes up in the flower bed last fall.

No more shots after that reaction though.
