TV is the Opiate

Probably the worst TV show idea since Bachelor:

Pamela Anderson, as the centerpiece of Stripperella, a cartoon from Spider-Man creator Stan Lee. Its leading character (Anderson) is a stripper who moonlights as a superhero.

Male superheros get to be newspaper reporters, photographers, brilliant scientists... (*sigh*)

TNN is producing this dreck.

Once the former Nashville Network -- since being purchased by the entertainment conglomerate Viacom -- it has re-targeted its programming to attract young men.

Not that I have anything against Pam Anderson. I loved her in Barb Wire -- a grossly underappreciated movie.

Much like Sharon Stone's The Quick and the Dead is grossly underappreciated.

Strong female action characters in campy flicks. For what they are -- I think they're great. Much like my lasting appreciation of Kurt Russell in Soldier.... For a science fiction spaghetti western -- it rocks. Not high drama -- but solid.

But back to Stripperella... What a garbage of a premise.
