XM Radio

The wave of the future or just a silly gadget soon to be forgotten?

Cute column -- also from ABC -- explores both options with great personal riffs and inadvertent advice on how not to operate satellite radio.

Click here for the Silicon Insider.

Myself?

I will probably not rush to embrace XM.

Radio is more than music for me.

I listen for city life connectivity.

It is a great source of information on the happenings about town.

The public service announcements, nightly live bands lists faithfully read by the DJs, hype for coming concert attractions and the local news breaks keep me tuned in.

XM is just a super CD player over which I would have less control than the 10 disc changer already in the trunk.
