The Mighty "Pen" of Neil Swaab

For those not socially sophisticated enough to be in the loop, Neil is the artist who produces my favorite comic -- Mr. Wiggles.

Yes, I have written in praise of this unrehabilitated teddy before and yes, I still intend to get the crystal meth t-shirts for everybody's Christmas.

I'm just waiting for the price on the women's shirt to equal that of the men's.

But back to the art....

To produce such high quality, irreverent, smutty strips -- Neil's childhood must have either been a complete freak show or so banal he resorted to very strange porn as a young adult to compensate for its extreme normality.

Either way -- be it born from pain or boredom, Mr. Wiggles is the best.

Swaab's current parody riff claims a new victim -- the Cathy strip. Also -- be sure to click one back and not miss #147 -- which victimizes that vapid crap known as Family Circus.

Although maybe Neil should be careful...

While googling for a Family Circus link I ran across this rather sad tale of the repression of creative freedom:

The creator of one of the longest-running Web parodies said he may pull the plug on his Dysfunctional Family Circus site after receiving a cease-and-desist order from the company that syndicates The Family Circus comic strip.
