Tradition

I am not much for it, but it does occasionally have its place.

One I agree with is family sauce. My mom makes this great red sauce -- secret recipe with unexpected ingredients and all.

Tonight my little brother and I will be hard at work to make a super big 10 quart pot of Mom's finest.

All fresh ingredients simmered for at least six hours and then left to "come together" in the fridge.

We'll grate, chop, saute, stir, swig red wine, and watch DVDs...

Such yummy goodness.

In honor of the occasion I have special DVDs.

The California Fry's had three I've been looking for -- Chasing Amy, Groundhog Day, and Monty Python and The Holy Grail.

(I got to spend five hours in the Fremont Fry's last week and so had plenty of time to look through their offerings -- but that experience is a whole other story)

Yes, I know those particular titles have been available on DVD for years -- but I want more than mere feature film transferred to DVD format.

For me to shell out my mad green, I require commentary and featurettes... a complete spectacle of dazzling light and sound.

For example, the new version of The Grail is truly a thing of beauty. Its a two disker -- chock full of extra goodies.

I couldn't wait to pay for it!

The educational experience offered by "How to Use Your Coconuts" alone is worth the asking price.

Not to mention Monty Python and the Holy Grail in Lego...

Happiness can be bought.
