Locally -- its snowing again.

On a more pleasant note -- did a bit of nostalgia last Monday when I caught Laughing Colors' lead singer at a local joint playing acoustic.

Dave is still very talented and an excellent showman.

Even though it was not the full band, listening took me right back to Sunday nights at the now defunct A.L. Gators... and Saturdays at the also defunct Mai Kai.

I've never been a groupie in the sense that I don't pursue contact with favorite performers. Way back in 1994 or so, my roommate who had gone to high school with Dave introduced me briefly while she was chattering with him... but other than that I've always just listened from the shadows so to speak.

In 1999 while driving cross country I paused to browse at a used CD store in Flagstaff and found a Laughing Colors CD. I think its sitting in Media Mole's stereo -- forgotten when I stopped through last month.

I had to leave early, but picked up his most recent CDs. He seemed shocked that someone would buy six at once.

Oh well -- I've been gone for a while.

Hopefully they will get their big break sometime soon.
