Fishy

Its Spring Cleaning time.

Since the Housework Faeries weren't kind enough to swing by and deal with the disorder left in the wake of a hurried pack out and bail, its been a week of organization and toil.

Not to mention the yard work.

All those flood rains created a backyard jungle. I had to break down and mow... only the fourth time in a year though.

The backyard maintenance schedule operates on a simple principle: when I can no longer see the dog, its time.

Plus I wanted to put in some trees.

So -- two pecans are now set about forty feet from the back patio. They have the potential to grow over fifty feet tall and hopefully produce tons of pecan pie. I christened them Nutty and Buddy.

In between them and closer to the fence, I stuck a Brown Turkey fig and an Alma fig. According to their profiles, they will make a hedge ten feet tall and twenty-five feet wide -- perfect for hiding the houses across the creek. Plus figs are ever so yummy. I may get two or three more and plant the entire back fence line.

Then I put a nectarine, a ruby red grapefruit and a red star grapefruit down the fence line shared with my favorite neighbor. When they are old enough to produce, she should be able to pick some over the fence.

What else?

Well if that wasn't productive enough -- I found a nifty little composter at Costco and it now shares the fence line with my least favorite neighbors.

But enough about my boring yard....

In addition to the work around the house, I also shuffled stuff around over to the right. Now much. Just a little.... a new addition in the Three Brain Link -- which is very worthy -- especially Fishy -- which I see as a great metaphor for relationships -- and Gonads and Strife... just because its amusing.

Weeee.....
